In a sense this has to be a line in the sand after Kildare. Serious questions have to be asked of coaching if (a) still no support for players like COS when attacking ( but similar questions where players go it alone when better options on ( b ) no plan visible to pick up breaking ball at middle ( c) forwards always " showing" for pass by using open space. (d) kick out strategy improved significantly.(e) Players who stand back when needed off the pitch regardless of who it is. Not expecting miracles but basics are basics ,and no excuses accepted. Yes we know lads put in a lot of time ,but they have the honour of wearing the jersey of a once proud county

I think Richieq wants to move on from Tullamore LOL me too. I hate that place, I never liked the game been there in the first place. Not sure what is about it. Although I love blame everything on the grounds.

Dont like it either if I'm honest, maybe so close to hospital, one of my parents passed away unexpectedly there few years ago, so I try to avoid it as much as possible . That's my reason, nothing to do with grounds.

Well that would be a good enough reason ok :(, I can still remember the happy on my uncle as Loais beat Meath in the 80's . I think it was the time of lyons brothers fall out in Tullamore. Recently the draw Carlow game and lost to Loais in 2012, And now Kildare. Anyway....

I agree with much of what you say, but on the point of the kick-out strategy, we are pretty limited in what we can do. Assuming that P O'R is in goals (and he will be), then you just cant afford to play a short kick-out game. He is almost guaranteed to put a couple out over the side-lines, and another one straight into the full-forwards arms. The only safe option is to get him to drive it long every time - at least then he is not liable to have another brain-fart like against Louth, and just about every other team he plays against. Of course if we are being cleaned out in midfield as we were against Kildare, then we are caught between a rock and a hard place. Drive them all long, and we will lose every ball in the middle of the park. Kick them short and we will probably give away at least 2 or 3 soft scores with bad kick-outs.

Interesting piece with Mickey Burke where he says a video session after the Kildare match highlighted that 7 Kildare first half scores came from Meath turnovers or errors, considering we were down by 9 at half time that was a fair first half of shooting yourself in the foot right there.

If I were you I'd get the tickets earlier in the day to avoid the queues outside the ground before the game. Super Valu or Jackies.

Agree he has never showed anything to deserve playing time, all these ratoath players are consistently letting us down, they've all been on the panel for 3 or 4 years now and they're not getting better, with the exception of McGill who I still don't fully trust I'd start none of them.
