Cian Johnston underlined his huge potential by scoring 3-6 from play for his club Ferbane in the Offaly SFC last night.

The teenage sensation was in unstoppable form for Padraig Egan's charges as they cruised to a 4-24 to 0-10 victory over Gracefield at Bord na Mona O'Connor Park. Former county man Joe Maher also starred with a haul of 1-12 (0-10 from play) as Ferbane made it two wins from two.

Meanwhile, Tullamore put their first round defeat to Edenderry behind them when they accounted for fellow-parishioners Durrow on a 0-18 to 1-7 scoreline in Clara. Johnny Moloney, who has stepped away from the Offaly senior panel, lined out at centre back for 'The Blues'.

There were also two second round SFC games played on Wednesday night that saw back-to-back champions Rhode ease to a 2-15 to 0-9 win over Clara while Edenderry needed a strong finish to see off Cappincur by 3-12 to 1-11.
