Tyrone Masters celebrate

Gaelic Masters team around the country are recruiting new players for the coming year.

The Gaelic Masters Association, which surprisingly isn't recognised by the GAA, was set up to provide a level playing field for players as they enter their 40s and wish to continue at a competitive level.

There are currently 15 counties involved in the competition with Mayo being the reigning All-Ireland champions, Tyrone being the Shield champions and Leitrim/Longford being the Plate holders.

The first round of the championship is due to get underway in May, so training will be commencing shortly in many counties. There is no limit to the number of substitutes that can be used in a game.
