Kerry have commenced the process of finding a replacement for Eamonn Fitzmaurice as senior football manager while Fintan O'Connor has been ratified for another three years as the Kingdom's hurling boss.

A four-person selection committee, which comprises of chairman Tim Murphy, secretary Peter Twiss, development officer Eamonn Whelan and coaching officer Terence Houlihan, was approved at a County Board meeting last night.

The Irish Independent reports that Murphy revealed that clubs will be invited to forward names to be considered for the manager's job as well as potential backroom team members.

The names of Jack O'Connor, Peter Keane, Pat O'Shea and Diarmuid Murphy continue to be linked with the vacancy which officials hope to have filled by October 8th.

Meanwhile, Kildare native O'Connor got the green light to continue as the county's hurling manager for another three years having been appointed two years ago.
