Rochford poised to take Galway reins

Donegal selector Stephen Rochford

Speculation is rife that Stephen Rochford will be named as Galway's new senior football manager in the coming days.

The Connaught Telegraph is reporting that the former Mayo manager is set to succeed Kevin Walsh in the role, despite having recently recommitted to his position as Donegal coach for a second year. And it's believed that Padraig Joyce and John Divilly, who guided Galway to a Connacht U20FC title this year, will be his selectors.

The Crossmolina native, who replaced Joe Brolly on the RTE panel for their All-Ireland SFC final replay coverage last evening, led Corofin to an All-Ireland club title before serving three years (2016-18) in charge of Mayo.
