Offaly are through to the last four of the Leinster U20 FC courtesy of a seven point quarter-final win over neighbours Westmeath in O'Connor Park today.
The Faithful County ran out 1-17 to 1-10 winners with Jack Darcy's stoppage time goal rounding off a satisfactory afternoon's work for the hosts.
The Damien Gavin managed Westmeath enjoyed a bright start to the contest and were 0-4 to 0-2 ahead at the end of the opening quarter.
The remainder of the first-half belonged to Offaly, however, and it finished with them 0-10 to 0-5 ahead.
The winners managed to keep their noses in front throughout the second-half before Darcy's strike put some daylight between the two teams.
The Lake County were forced to settle for a point from a 55th minute penalty after Barry Rohan made a fine save while Brian Kavanagh, who finished with 1-4 overall, netted their goal in the second-half.
Cian Farrell and Cian Johnson hit 0-8 (all placed balls) and 0-4 respectively for the winners whose name now goes into tomorrow's draw, along with Dublin, Meath and Kildare, to determine the semi-final pairings.
