There was some truly fantastic hurling action today, with major silverware up for grabs at both club and intercounty level.

After even extra time failed to separate them last weekend, holders Cuala and Na Piarsaigh renewed acquaintances in the All-Ireland Club SHC final replay at Portlaoise (5:30), preceded by the rescheduled national hurling league Division 2A final between Carlow and Westmeath (3:30).

Meanwhile, the HL1 quarter-final between Wexford and holders Galway also fell foul to the inclement weather conditions last weekend but these two belatedly did battle at Wexford Park at 3pm today to determine who advanced to meet Kilkenny in the last four.
