The clash of Padraig Pearses and St. Croan's ended in controversy

This evening's Roscommon SFC game between Padraig Pearses and St. Croan's ended in controversy when a St. Croan's player reportedly stayed on the field after receiving a black card.

Cathal Connolly, who was part of the St. Croan's team that lost the 2015 All-Ireland club IFC final to Kerry's Ardfert in Croke Park, played a key role in securing a 1-12 apiece draw for his side after being given his marching orders in injury-time.

If Pearses lodge an appeal, it's likely that they will be awarded the win.

Meanwhile, Clann na nGael - who edged out holders St. Brigid's in the first round - continued their impressive form with a 1-9 to 0-7 victory over Roscommon Gaels. Darra Pettit scored a splendid second half goal to secure victory for the Johnstown men.
