Following a county board meeting this week, Fermanagh delegates voted against Croke Park’s proposal to introduce a second tier All-Ireland SFC.

The Erne County are the latest to come our against the proposal, although the Fermanagh Herald reports that the vote was very tight.

The proposed second tier would be restricted to counties in Division Three and Four of the National Football Leagues.

However, a large number of counties in that category have come out against the move to introduce such a competition.

If, as expected the proposal does go forward to Congress next year, there is a feeling that it may get through.

Regardless, should there be a second tier All-Ireland SFC in 2019, Fermanagh will not be in it as they will ply their trade in Division Two next year.
