Nathan Mullins - son of legendary Dublin midfielder Brian - lined-out with Donegal seniors for the first time today as Declan Bonner's men defeated Roscommon by 2-17 to 1-15.

The challenge match at Kilglass Gaels GAA grounds in Roscommon, which was the Rossies' second in four days having defeated Offaly on Tuesday night, also saw Odhran MacNiallais return for the Tir Chonaill men after opting out of Rory Gallagher's squad this past season.

Mullins, MacNiallais and Eoghan Ban Gallagher were reported to have all played well in the seven-point win as Bonner's men prepare for their upcoming season which begins on January 3rd when they host Queen's University in the first round of the Dr McKenna Cup in Ballybofey.

Mullins spent his early years in Carndonagh where his famous father was teaching at the time. He was part of the Dublin side which defeated Donegal in the All-Ireland U21 final in 2010 and switched allegiances the following year.

Last night he was named the Dubs Stars Footballer of the Year after starring for St Vincent's during back-to-back senior championship successes in the capital.
