London manager Kevin McMullan has stressed that they are keen to put last year’s performances well and truly behind them.

The 2019 campaign was poor for London as they were relegated from HL2A and failed to get out of the group in the Christy Ring Cup.

This Sunday, they face Kildare away in the opening round of the HL2B campaign and McMullan told the Irish Post that they are eager for a good start to the league.

“Confidence is everything. If the boys had won their first game last year in the league it could have gone the other way for them,” stated McMullan.

“It’s such fine margins. Once you have a few things going against you it can take on a momentum of its own and it’s very hard to arrest the slide.

“We only have half the panel from last year. It will be a completely different team with a new outlook.”

Some of the new players coming into the squad include former Antrim under-21 captain Damon McMullan and Kerry forward Jack Goulding.”

The Allianz Football and Hurling Leagues are back this weekend and so is the Hogan Stand Match Tracker. Join us on Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon for live score and updates from the opening rounds.
