This is what the GAA is all about.
Donnchadh Walsh announced his inter-county retirement on Friday morning after winning three All-Ireland SFC titles, eight Munster SFC medals and two National Leagues with Kerry over a 15-year spell.
Walsh was in action for his club Cromane yesterday and before their Mid-Kerry O'Sullivan Cup semi-final, opponents Milltown-Castlemaine formed a guard of honour as he ran onto the pitch. One of the most under-rated players in the game, Walsh went on to score a goal as Cromane progressed to the final on a 3-9 to 0-9 scoreline.
