There was a comical moment during last weekend's Wexford SFC quarter-final between Kilanerin and St James' at Innovate Wexford Park.
During a break in play, the Kilanerin physio and former Wexford footballer Jim D’Arcy had entered the field and was involved in a brief exchange with a St James' player before he made his way back to the sideline. As he was doing so, another St James' player came running in his direction and ended up hitting him a shoulder, but the teak-tough physio stood his ground and sent him flying.
However, it is now said that the corner back was running for a short kick out when he collided with D'Arcy.
A hilarious video of the incident was posted on the Mayo 4 Sam Photobombers Facebook page during the week and has already racked up 255,000 views.
For the record, newly-promoted Kilanerin won the game and have been drawn against St Martin's in the county semi-final.
TweetThat's my club @stjamesgaaclub. It's not clear from that video but what actually happened is our corner back made a run for a short kickout and was illegally blocked by their physio. As a result, the ref sent off the physio to the stands.
