Sheedy: more hard work to come

Tipperary manager Liam Sheedy has bad news for his squad as the hard training is set to continue.

Sheedy has revealed that the squad are being put through their paces in recent weeks, which reflected in their ‘heavy-legged’ performance against Clare in last Sunday’s Munster SHL final.

The Banner finished the stronger side, but the bigger picture is the start of the NHL the week after next and Sheedy told the Tipperary Star that the aim is to hit the ground running.

“For the last eight weeks, we have put in a serious shift of work and we have returned to it again this week,” stated Sheedy.

“We might have been a bit leggy against Clare, but that is my responsibility and we are going to keep at it because this is the work period of the season. When the national league starts it will be hard to get hard work in because it will be week after week. So we have loads to work on.

“For us now it is about picking ourselves up and learning from this. Losing in life or in sport you learn and we will learn from this because we were second best.”
