Members of Watty Graham's GAC in Maghera have been left heartbroken by the tragic death of eight-year-old Daniel Bradley in a road accident last night.
The young boy, whose family are deeply involved with the club, was struck by a car close to the entrance of a filling station in Maghera at around 8pm.
In a statement released this morning, Watty Graham's GAC said they had lost a "very special wee boy".
It read: "Our community lost a very special wee boy last night. Our thoughts and prayers go to Daniel Bradley's parents James and Janice, his sisters Lucy, Emily, Katie, his grandparents and wider family circle at this terrible time.
"As a result, tomorrow's Under 10 Fergal 'Rick' McCusker tournament is postponed until next Saturday. Participating clubs will be notified via email later today.
"Daniel loved everyone and everyone loved Daniel. Fly high 'Dan the man'."
