Stay strong Kildare! They are absolutely right to insist on playing at home and i hope every county board in the country comes out and backs their stance, including Mayo. Cian O'Neill spot on this morning, this is a football competition. It is all about the footballers, if less people can see the game that is inconvenient for them, but the integrity of the competition should not be compromised.

Good performance from Sligo today. The mayo goal really was the difference at a time we had scored 5 in a row to level. A very young team showed really well against a strong Mayo side.
Bring that effort to Armagh next week we won't be far away

Replying To shligorovers: "Lads I was away on holidays only back today. Any reports on the first round of games because the champion and the weekender might not have the best coverage." Caught Shamrock Gaels Vs Ballymote on Sunday.
Was a good even contest up until Robbie Flannerys sending off. Looked extremely harsh, Was given a straight red before half time on recommendation of sideline official, Ciaran O'Donnell.
Up to that point was a very even contest, level i think, with Ballymote playing into a decent breeze.
Niall Brennan was sent off mid-way through second half for striking and Shamrock Gaels pulled away after that.
Pity about the sending offs as they ended the game as a contest. Shamrock Gaels got the job done and will be looking ahead to bigger tests.
Difficult to name any one player that really stood out.
