The Portlaoise native has taken the reins of Kilkenny side James Stephens along with fellow Laois man Seamus Dwyer, who worked under him as selector with the O’Moore men for three seasons..

Plunkett managed his home county between 2013 and 2015, winning a Division 2A title in 2013 and takes over a James Stephens which lost out narrowly at the quarter-final stage of the Kilkenny SHC to Erin’s Own last October.
