Offaly kingpins Rhode are still on the lookout for a new manager.

The defending county champions have been looking to replace Declan Gorman who stepped down after their exit from the Leinster club SFC.

Gorman had Jack Cooney as part of his management team, but the Coralstown/Kinnegad clubman is the new Westmeath senior football manager.

Gorman and former Rhode manager and player Paschal Kellaghan are both part of Cooney’s backroom team for the coming year.

The Midland Tribune reports that Rhode may be close to appointing a new manager, but with the month of January almost up, they are sure to want to make the appointment sooner rather than later.

Meanwhile, former Offaly, Westmeath and Sligo manager Pat Flanagan has been named the new manager of Clara where he has had success in the past.

Last year’s SFC finalists Ferbane have turned to former Laois underage supremo Sean Dempsey to guide their fortunes in 2019.
