Spending on the Mayo senior football team dipped below the €1 million mark this year.

Mayo's early championship exit saw inter-county team preparation expenditure drop from €1.2 million last year - when the Westerners reached the All-Ireland final - to €848,053 this year. The costs of running the rest of the county teams also fell, leaving the total team adminstration costs for the year at €1.19 million, down from €1.54 million in 2017.

Delegates at yesterday's county convention in Kiltimagh were told that total expenditure was down from €3.35 million last year to €3.18 million this year, with fundraising activities yielding €604,000 compared to €921,000 last year.
