The Munster senior hurling championship final between Clare and Cork will be held at Semple Stadium on July 1st.

The Munster Council has come to the decision this evening to the hold clash at the Thurles venue in what will be a repeat of last year's decider.

45,558 spectators turned out at the 'home of hurling' last July as Rebels defeated the Banner men by 1-25 to 1-20, clinching their first provincial crown in three years in the process.

Clare, who had an impressive win over Limerick yesterday, will be gunning for their first title in 20 years on Sunday week, while John Meyler's team are now out to make it back-to-back successes down south for the first time since 2006 after their victory against Waterford.

It means that Tipperary are also set to have home advantage for the curtain-raising minor final as they host Limerick.
