Former Cork star Seán Óg Ó hAilpín
Seán Óg Ó hAilpín has spoken of his regret at some of the things that happened during the Cork GAA strikes over ten years ago.
A number of times during the first decade of the new Millennium, the Cork hurlers and footballers clashed with their own county board over what they deemed to be inadequate resources put into the county teams.
Looking back now, Ó hAilpín regrets the individuals that were forced to step down and also some of the things that were said in the heat of the moment.
Speaking on the Sunday Game on RTE Ó hAilpín singled out Cork legend Gerald McCarthy in particular, who ended up standing down as Cork manager in 2009.
"The worst one was in 08/09, probably the one that there is still an aftermath to this day," admitted Ó hAilpín.

"The biggest casualty out of that was Gerald McCarthy. One of - if not the greatest - Cork greats having to step down.
"It’s 12 years on and not a day goes by... when I think back to then, if things could have been done differently?
"There are certain actions, in hindsight… I can’t speak for the other players but I know myself, I would have said some stuff that, with proper reflection, I was probably best to just keep my mouth shut."
