People all around Roscommon, Dublin and Offaly are flying the primrose and blue flag to remember Conor Connelly who passed away on Saturday.

The passing of the former Roscommon footballer who played club football with Creggs, Michael Glaveys, St Judes of Dublin and Ballycumber in Offaly caused shock and sadness nationwide.

Restrictions due to Covid-19 mean that his funeral can only be for immediate family members. As a way of showing their love for Conor and his family, the GAA community have begun to fly the Roscommon flag outside homes and businesses to honour the 2001 Connacht SFC winner.

It is a touching gesture at such a sad, sad time.
