Noel McGrath was named All-Ireland hurling final Man of the Match at the Tipperary team's victory banquet in the Burlington Clayton Hotel last night.

Nominated along with Ronan Maher and Barry Heffernan, the 28-year-old pulled the strings and was at his brilliant best as Tipp powered to a 3-25 to 0-20 All-Ireland final win over Kilkenny. His story will provide inspiration to many as four years ago McGrath was diagnosed with testicular cancer.

However, he won that particular battle before returning to win his second All-Ireland medal in 2016. But yesterday's success was agruably the sweetest yet for the redoubtable Loughmore-Castleiney clubman.
