As I said after the Kerry gave I think the team are finding their feet and the performance level is certainly improving, this is a big test again, Galway under new management are playing with the ability they always possessed but weren't let use, I see them making waves this year come the summer. That being said we have a relatively good record against them and they will be on a serious high after last weekend, maybe too much of a high, and if Meath can keep the level of improvement going I would give us every chance provided we take every chance, missed opportunities were rued against Kerry just as they were against Mayo and Tyrone so our efficiency needs to improve although 2-13 last weekend seems to suggest things are moving the right direction. It's do our die and backs to the wall stuff as defeat coupled with results elsewhere could see us relegated by 4pm next Sunday and in that type of situation we have often performed to our best, I have a sneaky feeling we could win this one, we shall see, weather permitting of course

Lowest scoring team in country vs. highest scoring team in country. Galway win.

Meath have lost by just a score in last 2 games. I hope we can be there or thereabouts tomorrow.

Also, here's hoping more panelists return to the squad for summer football

We have an average of 1-6 from play in our games to date, not nearly good enough to expect to beat Galway. On the plus side we never gave up against Kerry and had enough chances to win it near the end. Watched the Galway/Tyrone game this afternoon and even allowing for the loss of a man (Tyrone) early on Galway looked very impressive all over the field. Some top class long range shooting and would expect them to make Div one final.

I suppose we always did well against Galway well last few years anyway.
Could it b we are hitting a bit of form.getting beat by kerry albeit we performed well.have we any new players to come in.where have the wAllaces gone.conlon seems b getting hard to get game time.our running game mightnt suit against galway they have very big strong players.running into these lads not b to our benifit.if weather permits and is windy and wet.maybe dardis tobin b addition.like again mayo could been better suited for conditions.long range frees if windy b a plus.if we had someone to do this.(dardis) maybe.horses for courses etc.cant make same mistakes again.ets hope for same attitude like kerry game.

Just want to wish Andy Bryan and Donal and the lads the best of luck tomorrow! Incredibly nervous about this one....in a good way. I dont think Galway are any great shakes to be honest. If we score into O Mahonys goals first half then I honestly think we could win this by 9 or 13. What have Galway really done since we last beat them in Navan?........nothing! Come on the Royal. BELIEVE! We need to be the 16th man tomorrow get in early get in green and sing your hearts out. Get behind the lads!

A familiar partner against Division 1 team last in championship or league. Since the start of Mick O'Dowd's reign. 2013 lost by 2 to Tyrone, 2015 lost by 2 to Tyrone, 2017 lost to Donegal by 1, 2018 lost to Tyrone by 1 AET. Lost to Mayo by 1, Kerry by 3 and Galway by 2 this league. Last year blew the league against Donegal twice in the league and lost by 2 both times and in the super 8 were level with 15 mins in every game and fell off. It's a very frustrating trend that the last two managers share. We just need to win one of these games where we are underdog and it would give the group of players huge confidence

Again another good performance. Last 3 games can only stand to us come championship, even if you were to compare last 3 games to super 8s, lost by a total of 6 compared to about 24 in super 8, 2 of which were same opposition and us down 7 or 8 men. Can only be seen as improvement. If meath had galways Shane Walsh today we win that game imo. Also dissapointed to see the pulling dragging and off the ball stuff Galway resorted too and more so the ref didn't pay any need too..... it seems the claim that Joyce is a football purist is a bit premature.

Gutted, the most hurt after a loss that I have been for a while. Each week this meath side is getting better and better. Harnan, lenihan and Walsh made big differences and when we have Jones and Lavin and Newman and campion it will be better again.

Andy is bringing this team forward and they aren't a million miles away.

Worst referee performance Ive seen in some time. Surely the players deserve better than this at this level?

Agreed, Galway not as much the football purists we were led to believe.

I was actually not too downhearted after this - we were already going to be relegated but I still see gradual progress with more players showing they are getting to the required level. Good to see Lenihan back.

Hard to see a win n either of the last two games but, overall, these performances against better opposition has to help us come championship.

Another good performance today men. Another what if. Another close call. Another nearly. But they are becoming more common. Considering the panel and considering that we're 5 games in, it could be much, much worse than having to slate a referee over a 2-point loss. That Galway team put up a record score vs. Mickey Harte's Tyrone very recently. Compare this to the feeling after the hiding vs. Westmeath in 2015 or the defeat to Longford in 2018 in Pearse Park. The utter feeling of doom and despair. Sometimes I feel like the agony aunt on this, I feel like a negative Nancy, but on this occasion I feel we should rejoice in our successes. It hasn't been pretty and the results are obviously not in our favour, but to play at the quality we did vs. Mayo/Kerry/Galway in three back to back games and only go down by a few points in each is no mean feat whatsoever considering at one point we were perilously close to being a Division 3 team in the last 3/4 years. I believe when building strong sides from scratch (which is basically what McEntee is tasked with doing) consistency is the key, and depth, and we look to be developing that slowly and meticulously. This next game at HQ is the big'un. This team has a mental block with Dublin and the performance from last year's Leinster Final needs to be rectified. Looking forward to hitting up the city in two weeks time!

I am finding it very very hard to give up my Sundays to watch a games been refereed like. Its a total disgrace. We deserve better than what been dished out to us refereeing wise over the past few games. Especially the Mayo where they are not even playing the time allowed, for example.

Should have won today. However I could sense the feeling all around that Meath were going to lose. It was almost a degree of inevitability.

Dominated the ball and lots of possession. No excuses should be had on our end.

In an ideal world 4 points may have been a reflection of where Meath are at.

I feel that the major hurdle to get over next is to win a game. Clare in July was our last competitive win. Losing becomes a habit. That mental block needs to be rapidly addressed before championship

Very hard to take that today, whilst I dont like to blame a referee it did seem he was only protecting one team.

McGill defense again today, Walsh with only 1 pint from play. Keoghan and Menton great as usual and bar an errant pass in the 1st half James McEntee was also v.good.

O'Reilly getting more consistent and great to see lenihan back.

Like others have said the consistency in performance is there now and I think this year will be the opposite of last.... in that we will have a poor league but this will stand to us and expect us to go well come championship especially with the quality players we have to come back.

Onwards and upwards, hon the Royals!

Same as that. The worst I've felt all year. Totally and utterly devastated.
We were the better team today. And so much for the all singing and all dancing Galway. They showed antics today that would shame any Ulster county

Very unfortunate today. Galway definitely weren't the beautiful team that was expected but they did the cynical stuff that all good teams do when they have to.
Last ten minutes of the second half they killed Meath momentum and referee wasn't able to deal with it appropriately. Harnan needed to get in earlier. Conlan at midfield is an athlete but not enough football for this level.
Lenihan was a relief to get back and proves the need for a freetaker. While Galway Shane Walsh only scored one point from play it was a vital score and his general play with three key assists was the difference between the teams. He tormented Clarke and left McGill to try and handle a big unit like Paul Conroy who scored 4 from play.
Joyce definitely won the tactical contest considering he was without Comer.
McMahon, Banty, Menton, Keogan, Ryan, Brennan and McGill( first half) played excellently
Tough day for O Reilly who has been great until today
O Brien isn't it for me Would have liked to see O Connor or Costello in at 15
