The news was indeed tragic stickfan, no one knows the circumstances which bought her to do what she did, but trying to warn people against banter on the hoganstand is a step too far in my opinion. People like yourself need to remember that you can turn off social media if it effects you in a negative way.

I'm sorry but I really have to challenge the narrative of that last line. I enjoy social media but abhor the personal, vindictive attacks that have now become more common place. So by your logic - I should take it upon myself to leave social media circles while the perpetrators should continue to flourish?!

I know that's not what you meant but we all have a duty of care to stop the madness. Banter is why we enjoy the platform...too many cross that line!

Have to say this is bordering on ridiculous as everyone hides behind made up names so nobody is directly picking on anyone... if you hide behind a keyboard you are a target for anyone who disagrees with your opinion ...IMO

I think the point been made is that we don't need to personally criticize or insult our county players or club players if they didn't have a good game.

I think the actual point is is that nobody on here personally criticizes players on this forum, otherwise the post wouldn't be published by the admin who keep a tight ship.

One saying that they don't think a certain player is good enough for the county team is not a personal criticism. Similarly singing the praises of a player does not equate to personal praise. Let's make that very clear.

Ah sure do you see the amount of stuff I get thrown at me? From so called Meath supporters? (Before I go any further I know it's multiple accounts from a poster from a different county)
See any of my posts with any less than six or seven red thumbs is very hard to find.
The difference is that it doesn't bother me in the slightest, as if they met me face to face they'd run a mile.
I'm from a different vintage , where we were probably a little more tougher , and I think royallegend would be of similar opinion to myself and it's water off a ducks back, that been said I was trolled on Twitter once by same poster , and he put up details of my then 11yo, on here, that crossed a line. I complained to hs at the time and in fairness the amount of support I received even from posters I'd argue with on here from every county was absolutely fantastic. They never used the account (only once since) and again I sent hs a email and they disappeared, now it's the same poster using another account (s) but they should seek help , and I have offered to meet them for a chat to see can I help them, that offer still stands.
But yeah you right maybe we should think before we hit post a little more, I certainly will, not everyone has the same attitude as myself and things that might seem harmless to myself might actually affect someone in a negative way, and that is NEVER my intention.

Just after listening to an unbelievable interview that Mickey Burke did with the We are Meath boys. He speaks about the power/danger of social media including forums from his experience, well worth a listen...these are just human beings at the end of the day.

Wouldn't agree with that. Just people need to be more aware of what they posting

Just to be clear it wasn't u or any of the other ones I'd disagree on football matters on here. I think we all know who I'm referring to, if you remember a post awhile back where he forgot to log out of original account to agree with himself.
In fairness he/she has been somewhat quite lately. Since then.

yes remember that very well I think he needs to find himself a woman. she might keep his mind a bit more occupied so he wont have to be on here with multiple accounts and then forget which one he logged in as stupid carry on
