Strange enough team selection.
Andy Colgan back in for David Gallagher. To me you must stick with one or the other, granted Gallagher wasn't great last Sunday. Neither exciting options really. Severe flaws to both keepers' games.
Moving Donal Keoghan to centre back replacing Brian Power (benched again) and starting Micky Burke in the corner again is questionable. I can maybe understand Keoghan at #6 (as he played 2nd half there against Cork and was reasonably influencial) but why start Burke again, as he has been so far off the pace.
Briain Conlon dropping out, replaced by Adam Flanagan is strange. Conlon did okay at wing back when moved there late in first half versus Cork, replacing the loose marking Burke. Even though I like Flanagan its strange as Harry Rooney did well in the replacement switch last Sunday. Maybe Flanagan is going well in training, but he's not even appeared in any of last 3 matches, which raises questions of fitness.
Also dropping James McEntee to wing back accommodating Eamon Wallace at #10
If you were to reshuffle the defence, Shane McEntee should make way, especially as he went off injured at end of Cork match added to fact that he's added very little to the team so far.
Keeping Thomas O'Reilly at full forward ahead of Sean Tobin or Padraig McKeever or Bryan McMahon et al is crazy. Maybe I'm wrong but I've not seen him perform yet, bar the small cameo versus Sligo in Navan last year. I hope I'm proved wrong in terms of his selection being a master stroke. Victory at any cost is required!
All said, the 15 named probably wont start.

Well my tender is staying in my pocket!!! This might have as much to do with the venue as fare on offer, confidence is dripping away slowly........
We will win but what happens in Newry will eventually make more of a difference.

Whither it is or not is irrelevant, what a lot of people on here ate saying that there is no consistency in team selection and feel that this is eroding confidence. It is fine to make changes due to injury or evident lack of form. But many feel that some of the changes don't add up.
Some are also suggesting a little bit of favoritism. Not good.

Well the Cork v Clare game tonight looks like going down to the wire. A Clare win wouldnt be the best result ever for us.

Ah well it was always a must win game anyway, but now a Louth win coupled with a Down win tomorrow means we are relegated. Time for these lads to show what they are made of.

Expect us to beat a very poor Louth team tomorrow.down game will be 50/50 and to be honest i dont think we are good enough for division 2 at the moment but things can change very quickly,ill say it again his time last year we beat galway by 2 points.

Is this going ahead ? I live close by and there is a bit of snow on the ground and after the heavy rain we had. Its not going to bother me but if anyone is traveling from a far, I would be on by guard just in case.

I think if we do not beat Louth (no disrespect meant, its just they are in poor form at the moment) then we do not deserve to stay in the division.
However if both ourselves and Down lost today we would still have a chance to escape relegation the following week as we play down and they would be just 1 point ahead of us.
Anyway best of luck to them as we really need to play in the highest division possible, as its only through playing better teams that we can improve.

Royaldunne Wee have to look after our neighbours. It's a pity the match is called off with the weather. I was looking forward to it. It is refixed for tomorrow (depending on the weather) so at least that is something to look forward to. With Clare winning last night it means that my wonderful Wee County are officially relegated. Twice in the space of four years Meath will be coming to Drawda facing an already relegated Louth team.

Games called off today can be refixed for tomorrow except Down v Tipp as it's not a bank holiday in Newry.
Hard to see now how it will be possible to have April kept free for solely club action as promised.
Health and safety don't allow the use of grass banks in navan yet they'll be open in drogheda tomorrow despite the wet weather and snow in the preceding days.
Welcome to the world of the gaa. Would it be possible to explain to an outsider how this whole thing hangs together?
