Stephen O’Brien is looking forward to Kerry’s Super 8s clash with Meath in Navan on Saturday week.

With the Royals out of contention for a place in the last four, a draw will be enough to secure the Kingdom’s passage to the All-Ireland semi-finals. As they could conceivably even progress if they lose, the Munster champions are in a very strong position:

“Yeah, it was out of our hands in the last round of the Super 8s last year and a win meant nothing, so it’s a reverse this year and that’s what we wanted. Everyone was disappointed with the way last year ended up,” O’Brien told The Irish Daily Mirror.

“We have had a tough group with three top teams, so if we come through it’ll be brilliant. We’re looking forward to that challenge of playing in Navan. It’s the brilliant thing about the Super 8s to play these big games in local venues.”
