Mayo’s ambitions of progressing in the Sam Maguire Cup race have suffered a set-back with captain Diarmuid O’Connor set to be sidelined for the remainder of the season.
RTE.ie is reporting that O’Connor broke a wrist in training last night (Tuesday) and will have to go under the knife to repair it.
James Horan’s men are due to play host to Armagh in round three of the All-Ireland SF qualifiers this Saturday and the loss of their captain is a major blow to their prospects.
