Laois manager John Sugrue believes that we have not seen the best of his charges yet this year.

The Kerry native is hoping that will all change this Sunday when they take on Westmeath in O’Connor Park, Tullamore.

They face a Westmeath side that have beaten them on two occasions already in 2019, including the FL3 final.

Sugrue is hoping that the break since the league has given them ample time to work on this game and he told the Leinster Express that they are in a good place going into the weekend.

“We’re trying to push on and be different. To date we have been somewhat disappointing. But we’ve had a few weeks now and we’ve sorted a couple of things out and hopefully we’ll be in a better position next weekend,” said Sugrue.

Laois and Westmeath throws in at 2pm this Sunday.
