Ex Mayo midfielder David Brady has incurred the wrath of Kevin Cassidy after claiming Gaoth Dobhair’s Ulster Club SFC winning celebrations had a negative impact on preparations for yesterday’s All-Ireland Club SFC semi-final against Corofin.
Back in December, Gaoth Dobhair became the first Donegal club to win the provincial title in 43 years courtesy of a 0-13 to 0-12 extra-time final victory over Scotstown of Monaghan.
The GAA public had a ringside seat for the celebrations that followed thanks to a series of social media posts from two-time All-Star Cassidy and his club-mates.
Following yesterday’s 1-12 to 2-13 penultimate stage defeat to the reigning champions, Brady took to twitter to express his belief that the festivities backfired on the Donegal outfit.
Full-forward Cassidy – who notched 1-2 in Carrick-on-Shannon - didn’t take the criticism lying down…
They will when the dust settles & time passes in a quiet moment ask did they pass up the opportunity of a lifetime..Was there anything they could have done extra..Posting Multiple piss ups won’t win you All Ire & that’s not what winning is about..
