Longford's promotion push has suffered a setback with the news that experienced defender Michael Quinn will miss the last two games of the NFL 3 campaign.

The reason for Quinn's absence is the fact that he is getting married tomorrow and then jetting off on his honeymoon making him unavailable for this Sunday's crucial clash against Westmeath and their final game against Fermanagh.

Longford need to win both games to gain promotion, but they will be without their talisman, while top forward Sean McCormack is still sidelined through injury.

Speaking to the Longford Leader this week, the Midlanders manager Denis Connerton confirmed that Quinn and McCormack would not be available for the rest of the NFL campaign.

"Michael Quinn is getting married on Saturday and he will be missing for the duration of the league campaign along with the injured Sean McCormack," said Connerton.

Longford are still very much in the hunt for promotion as they host both their neighbours and Fermanagh in the coming weeks, but their task has been made all the more harder without those two key players.
