Mayo GAA are unlikely to proceed with the development of a new Centre of Excellence in Craggagh after a surveyor's report suggested that the site could be susceptible to flooding.
The Western People is reporting that the site may not be suitable for development and that an alternative piece of ground may have to be found. The proposed Centre of Excellence between Balla and Kiltimagh was due to include five playing pitches as well as clubhouses and ancillary services.
Mayo chairman Mike Connelly admitted earlier this year that the county board is "under major pressure" to provide pitches and training facilities for its various inter-county teams.
