Blow for Laois as pair head Stateside

April 26, 2018

Carlow's Brendan Murphy and Robert Pigott of Laois.

Laois manager John Sugrue has been dealt a blow ahead of his side's All-Ireland SFC campaign with the news that Robbie Pigott and Colm Murphy are headed for the US.

Both players were part of the O'Moore men's successful Division 4 campaign with Portarlington clubman Pigott playing a key role in the final in helping nullify Carlow talisman Brendan Murphy, who also recently confirmed his decision to travel across the Atlantic for the coming month.

However, the Irish Star reports today that both Pigott and Murphy are set to travel to Boston for the summer and will miss out on their county's entire championship campaign as a result.

Laois travel to Wexford for the first round of the Leinster SFC on May 12th with the winners set to face Westmeath in the quarter-finals two weeks later.
