Billy Lee says he will consult with his players, county board officials and his backroom team before deciding whether to continue as Limerick football manager.

Asked about his future intentions after the Treaty County's season was ended by Westmeath in Mullingar on Saturday evening, the Newcastle West man replied: “That requires conversations with the players, the county Board and the management team.

“It ain’t about me - it’s about Limerick football and doing the right thing for Limerick football. I don’t matter - if it’s right for me to go, I’ll go and if it’s right for me to sit down and talk to people then that’s what I will do."

Lee rejected suggestions that the Treaty County - who were coming off the back of a heavy Munster SFC semi-final loss to Cork - afforded the home side too much respect.

"People will come and they'll go on with all that auld crap. The bottom line is we got a torn a***hole below in Cork and if you don't start thinking about things like that, and it happened again, that would be folly."
