Sligo football manager Paul Taylor finally has something to celebrate in 2019 after he was re-elected to Sligo County Council at the weekend.

The Yeats County have yet to win a competitive game under the former star full forward, but he acknowledged that his high profile helped him to increase his vote by 800 in the Ballymote-Tubbercurry area.

"To be honest, you do need a profile. To get 600 votes, you probably need to canvas 1,500 people," he said.
