Colm Cooper has been named as the Kerry Person of the Year for 2018 by the Kerry Association in Dublin.

The announcement was made by the Kerry Association in Dublin chairperson Keelin Kissane at a reception in Dublin on Thursday night. 'Gooch', who announced his inter-county retirement last April, has won every honour in the game, including five All-Irelands with Kerry, eight All Stars and an All-Ireland club medal with Dr Crokes.

"Colm has graced the playing fields for many years and has brought honour and distinction to Kerry,'' Kissane said.

"He is a very worthy recipient of the award.''
