Mohill beat Gortletteragh with a very young looking team. Alot of under 21's on the panel. Dromahair look strong with two good wins. Bornacoola, Gortletteragh, Melvin Gaels and Kiltubrid are all without a win. Does this mean anything at an early stage like this ?

Kiltubrid will be in a dogfight this year again...team in transition.. Dromahair beat Bornacoola's 2nd 15 as most of their team was away on a Stag, Gortletteragh had a young team out vs mohill too, 3 of last years minors on the starting team, and are minus a lot of older heads, Melvin gaels relied on Emlyn Mulligan for 0-8 /0-9 per game.. they might struggle without that sort of scoring unless the rest of their forwards can make it up. The latter 3 are/should be a lot better than their first two games in the coming rounds

yes i have since heard that most of the bors first team were away i believe at one of the mc closkeys stag party. i knew something was up.
far too early in the year to predict anything still 10 league games to be played. melvin gaels will struggle a little. mulligan is a massive massive loss but they are still county champions

I was thinking myself that the bors must have been missing a few heads because from all the battles we have had down trough the years I know football comes first with them lads

Villatown I see you claim your club was denied a win

Just to set the record straight at worst it would have been a draw

Drumahaire have a lot to prove they didn't get up to senior championship last year and if they don't do it this year they never will

We kicked ourselfs out of it in the first half with 10wides and had far more possession then Carrick! throw in the fact we couldn't buy a free of Frank Niblock in the first half and probably the best player in the county Declan Maxwell missing due to injury I didn't think much of St Marys! I have already talked about the length of injury time played and the 45 that never was. On Melvin Gaels I remember them been relegated when Mulligan was injured around 2/3 years ago and perhaps the are missing him alot more than we all assumed the would! the won't be relegated anyway.

it is odd to say the least how some posters know more about 'neighbouring' clubs then their own. How they can be in more than one place at a time is beynd me./ We are in the presence of greatness, or are we!! the laws of conventional Newtonian physics do not confine this man!!

Good work

Is there another break in the league now?

Also the first round of championship is to be played after the New York game what will this do to the league that isn't even half played yet?

I'm just wondering because its kinda hard to plan any weekend when a text could come in on Friday night that we have last minute arrangements for a game Saturday evening or Sunday dinner time

It not the clubs fault either ccc have a lot to answer for

You know I overheard a conversation the other night. Two men who would be known by most Gaa lovers across the county,
They were talking about the advantage rule, but I can tell ya, there words was so wise, so deep and sensible.
They feel that all county players in club games should have no markers, to allow them play very well and in turn boost their confidence! This is a real revelation and I can tell ye, there's no shortage of rashers and boxty in my fridge.

Some might not like this idea, but young McGourty had this freedom in a challenge match once, and look how successful it was for him.
Just some food for thought.

St.Marys seems to be a club in a bit of bother. Winning none of there 3 matches this weekend. they got a walk over in Div 5. I know its early in the year but i have heard rumours that all is not well in the camp.
