Leitrim manager Terry Hyland feels that the county’s supporters need to get behind the team.
The Connacht side go into the start of the NFL 3 campaign next week on the back of a 30-point defeat to Roscommon last weekend.
Hyland played down thar result and stressed to the Leitrim Observer that it is only the month of January as they look to get a good start in the league.
“It is probably not ideal but everyone can read into it what they want to read into it and make out what they want,” said Hyland.
“They (supporters) have to consider it is January and as you rightly said, there were a lot of players missing and we were trying things out and you have to look at it that way.
“At the end of the day, it is a bit like a manufacturing process, we still have to work on all the pieces to get it right.”
