St Kieran's, Kilkenny are just sixty minutes away from claiming a record 23rd All-Ireland PPS 'A' SH title after edging out Cork's Christian Brothers College by 0-17 to 0-15 at the WIT Campus this afternoon.

Three days after winning an All-Ireland club SHC title with Ballyhale Shamrocks, Eoin Cody scored 0-8 (5f) for the holders as they set up a repeat of last season's Croke Cup final with Presentation Athenry.

Beaten Harty Cup finalists CBC provided Tom Hogan's side with a stern examination in Carriganore and trailed by a single point at the break, 0-9 to 0-8. They were also unlucky to have a goal disallowed for a square ball.

With the wind in their favour, St Kieran's hit a purple patch on the resumption when scores from Cody (2), Cian Kenny and Martin O’Connell saw them race into a 0-13 to 0-8 lead by the 40th minute. However, CBC managed to claw back the deficit to a single point before Cody regained control for the winners with his seventh point.

The Cork students responded once more through Padraig Power but Cody & Co had enough firepower to get over the line in a tight contest.
