Former Kilkenny goalkeeper David Herity has been announced as the new Kildare senior hurling manager while Lilywhites football boss Cian O’Neill has two new selectors.

Five-time All-Ireland winner Herity – who recently stepped down as Dublin camogie boss – will take over from Joe Quaid while “family and work commitments” have resulted in Ronan Sweeney and Enda Murphy stepping down as football selectors.

They have been replaced by 1998 All-Star Karl O’Dwyer and former Laois, Offaly and Westmeath manager Tom Cribbin.
