Carlow manager Christy Kealy expects his charges to face a tough test against Meath in the Leinster MHC this weekend.

The sides meet in the opening round of the minor championship at IT Carlow on Saturday. Throw in at 2pm.

Kealy and his management team have been working hard with a 43-man strong squad, but he stressed to the Carlow Nationalist that they will have to be at their best to see off the challenge of the Royals.

“Meath have had success at under-16 level last year. Like any Meath team, they won’t have any fear coming to Carlow,” said Kealy.

The Carlow manager is confident that his players can produce a performance on the day as they have shown a great bond so far.

“There are no go-to players. They are an honest bunch and that is their strength. They have put in a big effort and hopefully that will show when we get going.”
