Limerick manager John Kiely has added Clare man Aonghus O’Brien to his backroom team for the 2019 season.

It comes after the announcement this past weekend that selector Jimmy Quilty had departed the All-Ireland champions’ set-up.

O’Brien coached Limerick’s minors to a Munster title in 2013 and, as a player, the Broadford native represented Clare at senior level and worked under Davy Fitzgerald in the Banner County in 2016 as a coach.

Kiely’s management team also includes Joe O’Connor, Brian Geary, Alan Cunningham and Paul Kinnerk, with O’Brien having previous worked with the latter two years ago in Clare.
