Former All Star Curran to take Celbridge reins

Dublin's Paul Curran

Former Dublin All Star Paul Curran is set to take charge of Kildare club Celbridge for the forthcoming season.

An All-Ireland winner in 1995, Curran had been strongly linked with the vacant Roscommon post in recent weeks after Kevin McStay’s decision to walk away from the Rossies last month.

However, Anthony Cunningham has since taken the reins of the Division 2 champions and the Leinster Leader reports this evening that Curran “is expected to take charge” of Celbridge and succeed Trevor O’Sullivan in doing so.

Curran most recently oversaw the fortunes of St Oliver Plunkett’s Eoghan-Ruadh in his native Dublin and also led Ballymun Kickhams to a senior crown in the capital in 2012 before managing Clann na nGael to success in Roscommon in 2015.
