Wicklow manager Eamonn Scallan feels that his charges can get something for their last two HL2A games against Kerry and Offaly.

The Garden County picked up their first win of the campaign when defeating Mayo last weekend and this probably secures their status in the division.

They host Kerry in Arklow on Saturday and the Kingdom are top of the table having won their opening three games, but the former Wexford hurler told the Wicklow People that his side are capable of causing a surprise.

“We have a match against Kerry next week,” said Scallan. “Then we have one against Offaly the week after. Kerry haven’t dropped anything and everyone fancied Offaly to come out of it. I think Wicklow have every chance of taking on Offaly and Kerry.

“I think we are more economical in what we do and are able to play with the same level of effort and endeavour, I give them every chance of getting a result. If we get those two results, we are right back in the mix.”
