O'Rourke: we must learn from defeat

November 20, 2019

Naas are winning all before them in the Kildare hurling championships in 2019.

Naas manager Colm O'Rourke feels it is important for his charges to learn from their defeat to Kilkenny’s Tullaroan in the Leinster club IHC semi-final.

The Kilkenny intermediate champions ran out comfortable winners against the Kildare senior champions last weekend.

O'Rourke told the Leinster Express that they were beaten by a better team, but stressed that there was so much they could learn from the game.

“I congratulate Tullaroan, they were the best team on the day and we are disappointed, very disappointed with our own performance, nevertheless we wish those boys the very best as they bid to capture a Leinster title,” said O'Rourke.

“The main thing for us as I have been telling the players, is that we learn from this; we must learn from playing teams such as Tullaroan, an excellent side and one we were delighted to play, but it was all about learning and learning at every opportunity, that is how any team improves and that is what we must do following this defeat.”
