Limerick GAA confirm it has sent home two panellists from New York

Limerick county board has confirmed that two members of the senior hurling panel have been sent home following an incident in New York last week.

Last year’s All-Ireland champions were partaking in the New York Hurling classic this past weekend where they were defeated by Kilkenny in the competition’s final.

Video footage has recently emerged which allegedly shows a fight between two men, one believed to be a current panel member. It's also alleged that another player filmed the incident.

Limerick GAA released the following statement this afternoon to confirm that both panellists have returned home early.

"Limerick GAA can confirm it sent home two panellists early from last weekend's New York Hurling Classic following an incident,” the statement read.

"Limerick GAA expects the highest standards of behaviour and example from its players, both on and off the field, and will not tolerate any breach of those standards.

"A disciplinary process has commenced and there will be no further comment in relation to this matter."
