Joe Brolly has been singing David Clifford's praises after his last-gasp equalising goal against Monaghan kept Kerry in this year's championship.

Brolly said of the Kingdom wonderkid on The Sunday Game: "This kid Clifford, who I thought was going to take a while to bed in, is the first genuine superstar of Gaelic football to come along for a number of years.

"This kid is 6'3", 6'4". We saw what was happening to him off-the-ball and he stood up to it. Those Monaghan boys put it on you from start to finish and he stood up to it like a 25, 26-year-old. He's two-footed, he won't be put off his notion. He scored 1-5 against Galway who paid particular attention to him."

Despite Clifford's brilliance again today, Monaghan goalkeeper Rory Beggan received the RTE Man of the Match award after giving an exhibition in place-kicking in the thrilling 1-17 apiece draw.
