Replying To macca999:  "Hi Dickie, thanks for taking the time to post on our forum in the eager anticipation of our upcoming league clash and look forward to it, be nice to see a massive crowd even with the strange enough early Saturday throw in time. Always a good atmosphere in Navan despite the facilities, be super when works completed. Have had some great battles with Meath over the years though you have came out better on most recent occasions. Ignore the previous poster, there does be a few posters here who prefer to snip at every opportunity, and go with a glass half empty approach to any contributions to the forum, the local attempts at sarcasm can work in mysterious ways. Given the strength of Division 2 this year im sure Colm o Rourke and co have this earnmarked as a must win game and will expect to make home advantage count. Fermanagh will be looking to hit the ground running as cant afford to be cut adrift after first 2 games in this division and will feel that if reach their best that a win is a possible but by no means confident or underestimating Meath. If Fermanagh can stay in Division 2 it be a massive achievement, with provincial draws for teams wanting to be 100% sure of place in Sam Maguire 5th place finished be required potentially."
macca, you've got some nerve suggesting that the Meath individual named Dick should ignore my response to his sleazy proposition to Fermanagh male supporters, insinuating that partying ladies are easy prey in Navan. Your passive support for Dick really highlights your poor lack of moral judgement. You also claim that posters like me 'prefer to snip at every opportunity and go with a glass half-empty approach to any contributions to the forum. Let me clarify that optimistic individuals, like me, see the glass as half full because we focus on the brighter side of the situation. My commentary on the football itself was honest, realistic and succinct, a sentiment you seemed to copy but adorned with unnecessary longwinded waffle. You mention that 'local attempts at sarcasm can work in mysterious ways. While I'm not entirely sure of your insinuation, I presume it relates to an Enniskillen poster's humorous remark about a 'frogmarching' wish. If your mysterious response involves sneaking around at night to put up foolish posters on Brewster Park's gates, then that speaks volumes about your sarcastic approach. Find something more meaningful to do with your time!"

New Fermanagh Manager - 14 Like(s)
And so the Molaise rant still goes on...and on...so you do not seem to get it that 21 players to 9 favoured change...voted by intelligent adults many of whom are from the legal, teaching and financial sectors... that's what's called democracy... as for reappointment the procedure is simpler does not carry require the same amount tick-boxes as there would be for the appointment of a new manager...however I think on hindsight that the players should have been consulted before confirming McGrath's continuing management...I agree with gaalltheway that McGrath's disclosure of internal matters was less than honourable...the players and I know many of them personally are gentleman and deserve better press than they are getting...so let this be the end of this rant against our galant lads in green and white!

Replying To hairyhorses:  "Terrific win by Gaels on Saturday. As has been said their skill at penalty taking is a result of their soccer skills honed by the myriad of teams and leagues in the town. Every Fermanagh club area should have a soccer team to keep players active in the GAA off season. Rural clubs could amalgamate on a geographical basis to provide competitive teams. Most clubs have players who play for other clubs during the off season anyway so why not keep them together in their own areas and give them a greater sense of local pride in their team."
hairyhorses you know fine well that it is not compatible with the GAA ethos to promote non-Gaelic sport as it has proved to be detrimental to the Gaelic football in many respects...anyway you take on the Ulster QF between the town Gaels and village Gowna teams didn't reflect the tremendous performance of the 'non-soccer' Cavan underdogs whose authentic GAA players fought with such great passion to the the end of extra time to only lose by a lottery penalty shootout. Not a very fair way go settle the game which should really go to a replay.

What a Donegal folly you are when your best response is to try and deflect from his own stupid matchday error by trying to demean others. Now to my response to macca who continues to express his superiority by citing the luxury he has of being better than the most of us being able to folk out for a season ticket making him more green and whiter than ordinary fans like me. Well, such wealth doesn't wash with most people nor does does his belief that he is a superior game team and after game analyst, who blights this thread causing hurt on occasions to our players and by inference to their families. This man doesn't seem to get it why so many get so annoyed with his utterings on here. Now to tomorrow's game, (Tirchonaill1, that's Saturday by the way). I see our lads stepping up their game to keep Donegal on their toes so to speak and I believe the final outcome being close making us ordinary green and white fans proud of them. Good luck Fermanagh!

Replying To dickie10:  "hope to see lots of fermanagh fans down in navan in 2 weeks , its a giid town on a saturday night if there are groups planning on staying theres a few hotels and good b and bs in the town also. all meath fans are looking forward to this fixture since they came out in november so should be a massive crowd, we know we need to target this game big time so id say it could be championship fervour. meath played Galway on saturday and lost 0-15 to 0-11. both had near full strength. should be a great game, i cant see us beating armagh or donegal both away from home them and we also have a massive local dearby vs Kildare in navan which will be the marquee game for us. book hotels etc soon though because there are a lot of hen parties in navan most weekends"
Hi Dick, are you a Failte Ireland rep or a GAA fan as your post seems more about promoting hospitality than Gaelic football? As for football, Fermanagh should feel comfortable meeting Meath a bottom of the piler team who just avoided relegation last season. Although, we have had some heavyweights walk away, Donnelly is confident of fielding a team that will get us off to a good start. However, we are realistic enough to know it's going to be a challenging league campaign overall, but Donnelly is hoping his team will keep its place in div 2 for next season. And for your information, we have plenty of hens in Fermanagh too!

Replying To Bantysbabes123:  "That's a top class response. Fermanagh people need to know their place. Someone from a county who has never even won a provincial championship giving out about the current all-Ireland champions taking a competition seriously. Goodness me"
On the point of Fermanagh, who by the way has the smallest population in Ulster to draw players from, did they not knock your great Monaghan team out of the Ulster Championship in 2018 allowing our gallant Fermanagh team into the final?

Replying To FoolsGold:  "Bogue all at sea for the first goal. Cue the backlash for having an opinion."
Why was McNally not used??? Take away Donegal goals, then the scoreboard would have been more appealing. Was good first half but in the second half dispossession became too much of a feature. Too many mistakes. Cullens were strangled. Anyway, it was always going to be tough. Cork being beaten next weekend is a must!

My god, the Donegal slobber, Tirchonaill1 is confused as to what day the game is on and that sums up his confused views too! Now to our own slobber, macca999, who never gives McNally any credit noticeable even in his Ferm v Meath waffling followup review. Although, I give credit to Bogue on his amazing debut, I think Donnelly will go for McNally on Saturday due his experience and the tougher encounter that we anticipate. The forecast is given in to be wet and that won't help. Mentioning macca again, just to let him know that it's being shown live on the BBC iPlayer, so that will provide with the the usual opportunity for him to watch from the high stool as he often does but I'll be in Letterkenny being a true follower, as always, of our Fermanagh lads!

I think Harps would be a safe bet to do the double as they are not only better than Ederney but they are much more cleverer and that includes management! Next season Belnaleck will give both a good run for their money!!

Fermanagh teams are going no where. The minor team has just put us to shame, our under 19s or 20s are no better and as for our senior team I would not hold my breath! keshman, macca, erneguy and others may try to put a positive spin on failure but the results year in and year out tell the true tale. If the trend continues then Donnelly will end up joining the manager-has-beens and along with players will have in the process bled the county gravy train. Unless their is an urgent radical rethink by the county board our teams county teams are doomed. I'm not alone, as this is essentially the thinking of many other concerned supporters.

Kildare V Mayo - 1 Like(s)
Many are describing Kildare are showing great courage by digging their heels in over the venue for Saturday's Qualifier against Mayo but I see it differently. I think that the Lilywhites by refusing to travel to Croke Park shows a lack of respect for the GAA bosses at HQ. The decision reached to have the Kildare v Mayo at the larger Croke Park capacity venue provides more opportunity for both sets of fans to gain entry rather than at the inadequate provision of the Kildare stadium. In addition, Croke Park facilitates better the GAA major contributor, Sky Sports for their screening of both games on that evening. I say, that the GAA HQ should stick their heels in and sit this impasse out and let Kildare forfeit the game if they wish. Maybe if that outcome happened then that would teach the Lilywhites and indeed others in the future that the GAA's decisions have to take precedence for the greater good.

Mckenna Cup 22 - 1 Like(s)
I see the draw for the pre-season McKenna Cup competition will take place within the next week, with the first round of games to throw-in on the evening of Friday, January 7th and it will be run off within a 15-day window, with the second round of games down for Tuesday, January 11th and the final group games on Saturday, January 15th with the semi-finals are on January 18th and final itself is scheduled for just four days later on the 22nd, a week before the National Football League campaign is set to get underway. Anyway, the question I pose does any county participating team take it serious? other than those Tyrone ones who are so up hung up on glory seeking that they'd even enter a three-legged or bag race if they could show off.

Yeah tumbleweeds describe well the situation at Brewster yesterday. Has anyone worked out what game plan was employed by Ricey and co, if indeed there was any?? D'gonnelly lads need to cool down and concentrate on the footie. Would have liked to see Tomas Corrigan and get an idea of were he is standard-wise. Overall, not a day to be inspired but we live in hope. Not sure what the macca guy prob is but it must to be to do with his precious Dom not taking or interested in taking the job. Get over it macca and move on.

ULSTER CHAMPIONSHIP FOOTBALL 2019 - 1 Like(s)

Replying To macca999:  "Finally the Ulster Championship gets underway this weekend, only two weeks away before we welcome Ulster Champions Donegal to Brewster for what will be a huge task. I see they beat Down last weekend without number of main players. Any news from the Fermanagh camp and their preparation? Hopefully full panel to choose from and no injury worries."
I wouldn't be too optimistic at the thought of Fermanagh's chances of serving up a win unless we get a Champions League outcome such as Liverpool's miracle or Tottenham last minute bit of luck! As for your use of the word "welcome" this is inappropriate and should be more like "permit or facilitate" the mountain men to Brewster Park, Now to the team and these are most of if not all of the players reporting for training and/or took part in this 2018/2019 season's McKenna Cup and/or the National League but I gather some have now dropped out...so there's you pick macca999 and can they deliver the result you desire or is that too ambitious??
