Can you please stop with these not very funny jokes. Leave the jokes to us Meath man. We might not be producing the great footballers we had in the past. But we do produce the greatest comedians this country have ever produced eg Tommy Tiernan Dylan Moran and many more. Leave the storytelling to us. Why is a Fermanagh man so obsessed with Meath?. We have no rivalry whatsoever, and we have met very little. Would you not be better off to be more concerned about Tyrone Cavan Donegal and Armagh then Meath? Would you not be better off thinking and talking about how Fermanagh can beat Tyrone Armagh or Down or Donegal to win that elusive first ever provicial title. Why is a Fermanagh man with these jokes, (he found on the internet) so obsessed with a midlands leinster county that has no connection, rivalry, link with Fermanagh football wise whatsoever, it makes no sense."]fermanagh and meath have alot in common....niether of us will be in division 1 next year

Fermanagh V Kildare - 2 Like(s)
alot of kildare supporters seem salty over last night's performance .. the only disgrace about last night was fermanagh only winning by 2 points..how can kildare posters be so critical of fermanagh defensively when offensively fermanagh created 20 decent scoring opportunities...and missed two one on one goal chances. fermanagh fully deserved the win, a great response to last year's exit from the championship.

Paddy Orourke has pulled the pin a bit to quick here, Meath are improving all the time they will be their or their abouts come the business end of the season (the obyrne cup final) even hes bound to know they have a 50/50 chance in the obyrne cup? after that he might aswel retire.

Replying To royaldunne:  "Cavan Meath game only called off a little over a hour before throw in, then the nonsense of the fixing for Sunday, Andy mcenetee not one bit happy about it, everyone knew the game couldn't go ahead on Sunday, very poor form, Meath players waiting on a game that could never happen. As Andy said, so much for player welfare."
the scheduled game for Saturday would of been ok for most off the day. the rain didn't start till nearly 3 on Saturday.

what you, mcentee and orourke really mean to say is..how come the gaa officialls hadn't anticipated that the area of low pressure cyclone that moved in from the Atlantic would result in a relentless four hour downpour in Cavan and other parts of ulster.

as for Sunday....they said they would have a pitch inspection at 9 just like every other county in Ireland, it failed, Cavan and meath official Twitter accounts announced this at 9.36am.

Replying To Royal.Legend:  "Your wrong here when you say the promoted div 2 teams are almost guaranteed to get relegated the following season, statistically over the last five years of the ten promoted teams only three were relegated in there first year in div 1, if Meath do get promoted to div 1 I'm sure we be competitive but we have to get there first."
theirs a touch of hot air with that statistic that I couldn't be bothered going into.... I just don't understand on what bases you think meath football would be competitive in division 1. I would give you this thou..meath are the 3rd best team in Leinster and Italy are the 6th best rugby team in europe

Monaghan Vs Kildare - 1 Like(s)
This game is setup perfectly for Monaghan with all the hype surrounding kildare atm. Kildare were superb on Saturday evening, particularly going forward. an area were i thought kildare were very poor against fermanagh was their inability to put any pressure on the fermanagh kickout despite pressing. Fermanagh had solid amounts of possession on the restarts and created plenty of chances to at least have double scores on the board at half time. on another note, kildare had turned Navan into Newbridge Mk2 ..unbelievable support for a round four qualifier that type of support definitely has an impact on the game, i have a feeling their will be a huge kildare support making the short trip to croke park

Replying To Royal.Legend:  "Disagree with Ye here, there's not much between Monaghan Donegal Galway Kildare Tyrone cork down Meath Roscommon Cavan in my opinion, all these teams can beat each other on any given day, even Kerry and mayo can be beaten in the league depending on there mood."
theirs clear night and day between division 1 and 2. teams that are promoted are almost guaranteed to go down..galway this year are joining the big boys of provincial winners/competitors so they are pushing on... kildare are very unlucky they obviously have a very good young team. so essentially you could say what separates the top 6 teams in division 1 from the rest of Ireland is that they are all competing for provincial championship honours... so unfortunately that would leave meath stuck in the muck of div 2/3 for the next 10 years or so

Replying To Hill_hound:  "Agree with you on the whole. I think we do lack the depth of that Donegal side though, mostly due to management ignoring untapped potential 6 or 7 years ago, but I do feel a few days in croker are a strong possibility. We are very hard to beat and if we can get a few of the other forwards up and running - corrigan/sean we will have a forward line to envy. Good to see seamie on the team of the week - on par with Michael Murphy on his day."
Quote hillhound........"We are very hard to beat................. Can you remember 2 weeks ago when westmeath beat us by 2 points?

Replying To Richieq:  "We came within a point of Donegal last summer and with a bit more savvy in front of goal could of beaten them, we have been competitive with Tyrone in shy have we played them in and could also have beaten them in Omagh in 2015, Kildare certainly got the better of us last year but we had a period of dominance over them prior to that and I don't think last years games give an accurate reflection of the gap between the two sides, albeit they were far better in both days and deserved their wins. I would have no fear of playing those three teams and would believe that on our day we would certainly compete with them and could beat them so I think you could be accused of excessive use of the whip with your opinion there"
just to break that down into a digestible read...last year you played Donegal Tyrone and kildare and were defeated in all 3 games.

What way will everyone be voting in the referendum... Meaxit? Meath to be partitioned from the rest of ireland- where thy can set up their own inter-provincial, all-meath football championship series where everyone from meath is a winner. or ....Meath remain part of the current all-ireland setup?

another win..8 point margin but similar theme to almost every other game fermanagh have played this year, when we hit a purple patch it's lasting 20 plus mins...for the first period of the second half when offlay were on top i think they scored 1-3 to no reply during that period the team looked sapped of confidence, once sean hit a cracking left foot point that steadied the ship and we never looked like losing from then on. but again I think that was 25mins into the second half before that score arrived...... also offlay scored 1-3 to no reply even though we were playing with 15 players in our own half..on one hand yes the defensive play getting players behind the ball was great offlay only managed 1-6 over 70+mins..but when we turned them over it makes the transition very hard with 15 players in our own half.. looking ahead to more difficult games I suppose the biggest concern would be hitting a 20min purple patch where a better teams will rack up big scores..and with the amount of turnovers we conceded in our own half will be a problem against teams with better forwards..but overall 2 games and 4points!!

The analysis of this game is straightforward. ..tyrone dont have a quality inside forward That carries real scoring talent..... Ronan oneil, good game against derry but to often hit and miss. How many chances did he squander before harte took him off? Macaliskiy. ..goal chance...he hit it like a corner back..terrible rushed effort straight at the keeper...its not a learning experience for him he'l just never b a brogan. Mccurry....he never started the game why? Because he's been about long enough now for harte to know that hes nothing more than a hit and miss player...hence what was imo the biggest let down,2mins to go he got the ball 25/30yards out in space had a runner for a lay off but snapped at a terrible shot instead..should of got his head up!! Its a shame because I think in every other area this tyrone team are equiped to beat the best but where are thy gunna find at least 2 top class forwards?

need I remind you that fermanagh won the all Ireland junior championship last year...all be it was in the ladies football..but ya know baby steps and all that..... getting back to the original comment on paddy orourke...i can't understand why he would jump out the way he did....meath have some top top players who would grace any team in Ireland....Heslin for example what a player he is..he would walk onto that Dublin starting 15 no bother.
