Connolly to reunite with old foe in Boston

Diarmuid Connolly and James Dolan will come face-to-face for the first time since their 'hair-raising' clash in the 2016 Leinster SFC final later today.

During the first half of the Dublin-Westmeath encounter at Croke Park, Connolly had his hair ruffled by Dolan and duly retaliated by putting the Westmeath man in a headlock and wrestling him to the ground. The incident sparked a brief melee after which the two protagonists were both issued with yellow cards.

The pair will reunite in Boston at 2.30pm local time when Connolly's Donegal Boston will face Dolan's Wolfetones at Field A, Canton.

Fresh from scoring 1-6 against Connemara Gaels last weekend, Connolly opted to spend the summer in the US after an apparent falling out with the Dublin management, while Westmeath vice-captain Dolan announced he was joining Wolfetones on the eve of his county's Leinster SFC opener against Laois in May.
